Are You a Candidate for Full Mouth Reconstruction?

Some of our patients choose to have what is known as a smile makeover. A smile makeover is a combination of cosmetic dentistry procedures and treatments designed to improve the aesthetics of your smile. Every case is different, but in general, smile makeovers do not address functional or health problems in the teeth or gums, such as missing, broken or otherwise damaged teeth. We offer another option that does address those needs: full mouth reconstruction.

The Champagne Smiles team recommends you inquire about full mouth reconstruction if you have any of the following dental problems:

  • Fractured or broken teeth
  • Teeth that have fallen out
  • Severely worn teeth (could be attributed to chronic teeth grinding)
  • Jaw or muscle pain (could indicate TMJ/TMD)
  • Gum disease

What Does Full Mouth Reconstruction Typically Include?

The goal of full mouth reconstruction is to rehabilitate the entire mouth and restore proper form and function to the teeth (and gums). Full mouth reconstruction treatment plans vary depending on the patient’s individual needs. Full mouth reconstruction could include:

Dental implants: replace missing teeth or teeth that have been extracted because of damage or decay.

Dental crowns: provide structural support and natural appearance to chipped, cracked or otherwise flawed teeth.

Tooth-Colored Fillings: treat cavities.

Dental bridges: close the gap between two normal, healthy teeth.

Laser dentistry: rehabilitate the gums that have recessed or developed deep pockets.

Orthodontic work: improve the bite and reduce TMD symptoms.

Why You Need Full Mouth Reconstruction

Repairing broken teeth and restoring health to the gums is not merely an issue of appearance. It’s important to rehabilitate the teeth and gums so they function properly and are not at risk of disease or decay. Studies show that your oral health is intricately linked to your overall health; therefore, it’s best to nip problems in the bud before they worsen and put you at risk of serious complications.
